at Harold's Park Farm Riding Centre & Livery Yard | BHS Approved

The following pages contain everything you may wish to know about our yard, livery & facilities. What's included in livery charges and what's not, additional services offered to assist with DIY, our facilities, do's and don'ts which allows the yard to work more happily and efficiently.

Livery Charges: "DIY"
12 monthly payments (in arrears). £100 deposit.

  • Stable and grazing: £157.00
  • Hay:
    • Pony: £31.55
    • Horse: £41.55
  • Optional:
    • Straw: £2.00 per bale
    • Carrots: £2.00 per net bag
  • Lorry parking: £21.63 (inc. VAT)
  • Trailer parking: £5.53 (inc. VAT)
All hay and straw must be purchased through the yard.

Outside Hire
  • Schools: £15.00 per hour
  • Cross-Country: £15.00
Available 9:30am - 3:30pm weekdays


On Arrival
Here is a brief description of what is required on arrival of your horse or pony at our yard:
1. We require all horses and ponies to have been vaccinated against Flu, Tetanus & Herpes.
2. Your Horse or Pony must stay in our isolation stables that look onto the yard, for one week. This is to safeguard all of our resident liveries and we are sure you'll agree that once you are a livery here, you would feel safer with new arrivals following this plan.

Although we are a DIY yard, we understand that there may be times of the day or times of the year when you might need help caring for your horse or pony. Heidi Ketteridge and her team provide the additional services below at itemised charges. Please ask at the yard for an up-to-date price list:
• am, lunch, pm Feeds and/or Hay • Skipping Out, Mucking Out & Stables Cleared • Rugs On/Off & Field • Bringing In/Turning Out • Legs Washed/Hooves Picked • Put on Horse Walker • Lunged • Attending Blacksmith/Vet Callout • Daily Full Livery • 3/4 Full Livery 5 & 7 Days • Part Livery 5 & 7 Days • Full Livery 5 & 7 Days.

Safety
The safety of children, adults, horses and property is the concern of us all.

• Hard hats must be worn at all times when riding a horse
• No smoking on the yard
• Knowledge of the fire drill is essential. Be aware of the fire fighting equipment. Only use the fire fighting equipment for fighting a fire. Ensure water troughs are always full
• Please drive with extreme caution observing speed limits
• Children must be supervised by an adult at all times
• Parts of the farm are out of bounds. Please refer to the plan on the following page
• Farm machinery may not be used or played on at any time

N.B. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU BRING YOUR VEHICLES, ANIMALS AND PROPERTY HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO YOUR PROPERTY

Care of Horses
• The welfare of your horse is paramount. Cruelty or negligence will not be tolerated
• All horses must follow the worming regime and be up to date with their flu, tetanus and herpes vaccinations
• The management reserves the right to restrict the movement of horses in the event of disease in our own stables or other yards in the vicinity. Vet's advice will be taken

Schools
• It is important that you know and keep to the school rules
• Return cups, wings and poles to their specific places. Jumps must be returned to their designated places after use
• Remove all equipment from schools after use
• Remove all horse droppings from schools after use


Grazing
• You will be allocated a field for your horse
• You are responsible for skipping out your own field
• Ensure gates are closed even if the field is empty as open gates stop neighbouring fields being electrified
• Check water troughs
• Report breakages
• We value our fields. Grazing may be restricted or stopped because of wet or water-logged fields.

Hay and Straw
• Hay can only be provided/purchased through the farm
• All hay and straw must be put away in your back stores on the day of delivery
• Orders for the week must be chalked on your blackboard at weekends only. Please do not alter your board throughout the week


Dung Heap
• Wheel barrows are provided. Please empty them along the rear of the dung clamp
• Ensure wheel barrows are completely empty before parking correctly in their designated area
• Please do not dispose of litter on the dung heap. Adequate bins are provided throughout the yard

Litter
• Litter will not be tolerated and all litter must be put in the bins provided
• The blue bins may not be used for unwanted hay, straw or unwanted horse feeds

Bridle Paths
• Please refer to our map which can be found in the coffee room
• Bridle paths are for public use
• No other tracks should be used for riding
• No horses are allowed in the farm's woods
• Please do not ride on the field edges at any time
• The grass rides are for Harold's Park liveries only or those given permission by George Mackie

Other Facilities
Coffee Room

• A fridge, kettle and microwave are provided for convenience (please help us conserve energy by turning them and the lights off when not in use)
• Please keep the farm cats out!
Toilets
• Please keep the toilets clean and tidy at all times and use sanitary bins provided
• Please ask for more toilet rolls if they have run out or are running low

N.B. Only Toilet paper is to be disposed of down the lavatory!

Parking
• All cars to use car park provided. Pet owners may not park elsewhere
• Lorries and trailers to be parked in designated area (refer to map on following page). No cars may be parked there. Out of bounds to children
• Please do not park within 15ft / 5m of the hay barn
• Only owner/drivers of Harold's Park liveries are allowed in the Lorry Park

Invoicing
• Invoices will be issued monthly in arrears and charges will usually be up to the last Friday of that month
• Payment is due within seven days, preferably by cheque
• Any queries relating to invoiced charges should be made by writing within seven days
• A deposit of £100 per horse to be paid on arrival. This will be refunded in full, providing there are no outstanding amounts or damage to facilities
• We would appreciate at least one month's notice of leaving
• Please complete and sign the information form on arrival

Fire Procedure | What to do in the event of a fire
• Raise the alarm
• Telephone 999 and ask for the Fire Brigade
• Give the emergency services our address:

• Only attend to the fire if there is absolutely no risk involved
• Assembly Point : By the floodlight next to the isolation stables (please refer to map on following page)
