Welcome to Harold's Park Farm Riding Centre

Our BHS Approved livery yard has stables to accomodate up to 80 horses. The yard is situated in beautiful rolling Essex countryside.

Less than 5 miles from Waltham Abbey and only 20 miles from Central London, we have 500 acres which includes, grazing, hay, Christmas trees and arable land as well as 75 acres of woodland.

Our farm has its own grass rides and there is direct access straight onto bridle-paths which lead to Long Green, Galley Hill and Epping Green.

Shows are held regularly on a fortnightly basis and the indoor arena even houses a cafe serving snacks, hot and cold drinks where competitors and spectators alike can watch the shows and events at their leisure.

Other facilities include a Claydon horse walker, indoor washdown area, horse solarium, tea room, mens and ladies toilets and as well as being BHS approved, the farm is residential.

Steeped in History with links to King Harold II who fought and died at the battle of Hastings in 1066, the farmhouse is built on the site of King Harold's hunting lodge and it is rumoured that a tunnel connects the farm to nearby Waltham Abbey which King Harold built as a thanksgiving on being cured of illness.

Harold's Park was an ancient deer forest, hence the woods name Deer Park Wood and even earlier history tells us that Queen Bodicea's last battle may well have occured in the area.

You can find out more on the history surrounding the farm, the area and King Harold in our 'History' section.
